This coffee sugar scrub leaves lips feeling soft, smooth, and moisturized.

If your lips are feeling dry, this coffee scrub will fix that! Cane sugar and coffee grounds exfoliate dead skin, while coffee extract, cocoa butter, and coffee butter moisturize.

In addition to these skin-loving ingredients, we added a touch of Bio-Mulsion Wax. It's commonly used in lotion making to combine oils and water. In this recipe, it helps the oils and butters wash off your lips easily. It's optional - without it, the scrub leaves more oil behind.

This scrub can be used for the body as well. If you plan on storing it in the shower where it could come in contact with water, we recommend adding an oil-soluble preservative like Optiphen. If you choose to add that, it's no longer lip safe and should only be used as a body scrub.

Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
  • Organic Cocoa Butter Wafers - 1 lb
  • Coffee Extract - 4 oz
  • Coffee Butter - 1 lb
  • Bio-Mulsion Wax - 1 lb
EQUIPMENT:
  • DISCONTINUED - 1.5 oz Hexagon Jar - 4 Jars

Instructions

You will need:

  • 2.5 oz. Coffee Extract
  • 1 oz. Cocoa Butter
  • 0.5 oz. Coffee Butter
  • 0.3 oz. Bio-Mulsion Wax (optional)
  • 12 oz. Cane Sugar (from home)
  • 1 tsp. Ground Coffee (from home)

Follow these steps:

1

In a small heat-safe bowl, add 2.5 ounces of coffee extract, 1 ounce of cocoa butter, 0.5 ounces of coffee butter, and 0.3 ounces of Bio-Mulsion Wax. Melt in the microwave on 30-60 second bursts.

2

Allow the mixture to cool. If the sugar is added when the oils are too hot, it will fall to the bottom. When the oils are at 130-140° F, stir in 12 ounces of cane sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground coffee.

3

Spoon the scrub into small jars. Allow them to fully cool. To use, apply to your lips and scrub gently. Wipe or wash off any excess and apply your favorite lip balm.
