These results reflect the approved usage rates for fragrance oils based on International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards. IFRA works with an organization called the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) and an independent panel of experts to determine the usage rates to minimize risks to consumers. To do this, IFRA reviews thousands of materials used in fragrance formulations and issues guidelines for their usage levels or bans ingredients.
