Midnight Magic Candle Project
Bring a little magic into your space with these candles! The beeswax is colored a deep black and scented with Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil. It fills the room with notes of neroli, jasmine, and smoky musk.
A touch of glitter creates a mystical and witchy effect. Perfect for Halloween, they are best lit before a scary movie session or eating the candy you’re supposed to save for trick-or-treaters.
What You Need:
Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- Charcoal Black Candle Dye Flakes - 1 oz
- Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil - 3.5 oz
- Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter - 1 oz
- Premium White Beeswax - 1 lb
- Wick Stickers - 10 Sheets (100 Stickers)
EQUIPMENT:
- 8 oz Lidded Glass Jar - 4 Jars
- HTP 1212 Wick - 10 wicks
Instructions
You will need:
- Three 8 oz. Lidded Glass Jars
- 3 HTP 1212 Wicks
- 27 oz. Premium White Beeswax
- Charcoal Black Candle Dye Flakes
- 2.7 oz. Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil
- Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter
Follow these steps:
1
Add 27 ounces of premium white beeswax to the heat-safe container. Allow it to melt slowly and not exceed 180° F. Tip: This process can take a while depending on your melting setup. We recommend staying close to your container and stirring the beeswax every now and then to help it melt evenly.
2
Adhere each wick to the center of each jar using a wick sticker. Measure 2.7 ounces of Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil into a glass container.
3
Once the beeswax is completely melted, turn off the double boiler and remove the container. Add a large pinch of Charcoal Black Candle Dye Flakes and gently stir to incorporate. Set it aside and allow the wax to cool to about 160-165° F. Tip: To make sure the wax is black and not gray, test a drop on white paper and allow to cool. Add more dye flakes if necessary.
4
Add 2.7 ounces of Sultry Black Jasmine Fragrance Oil and stir in gently for about 1 minute.
5
Allow the wax to cool to 155-160° F. Pour it into each container. Steady and center the wicks - you can do this with clothespins, popscicle sticks, pens, etc. Tip: Try your best to pour the wax into each container quickly and in one smooth motion. If you pour twice, you will end up with a line between the first and second pour.
6
Allow the wax to cool and harden slightly - just enough to form a thin solid layer on top. Sprinkle a pinch of Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter on top. Allow the candles to fully cool and harden. Trim the wick, light, and enjoy!
