Peach Fuzz Soap Project
The peachy hue is created by blending Desert Rose Mica, Racing Stripe Orange Mica, and titanium dioxide. Gardenia Peach Fragrance Oil adds a juicy blend of peach, strawberry, rose, and citrus.
What You Need:
Gardenia Peach Fragrance Oil - 1.75 oz
Lots of Lather Quick Mix - 33 oz
Sodium Hydroxide Lye
Desert Rose Mica - 1 oz
Racing Stripe Orange Mica - 1 oz
Titanium Dioxide Pigment - 1 oz
Jasmine Flowers - 3 oz
10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold

- Sodium Hydroxide Lye
- Desert Rose Mica - 1 oz
- Racing Stripe Orange Mica - 1 oz
- Titanium Dioxide Pigment - 1 oz
- Jasmine Flowers - 3 oz

- 10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold
Instructions
You will need:
- 10" Silicone Loaf Mold
- 33 oz. Lots of Lather Quick Mix
- 4.7 oz. Sodium Hydroxide Lye
- 10.5 oz. Distilled Water (10% water discount)
- 2 tsp. Sodium Lactate (optional, but recommended)
- Gardenia Peach Fragrance OIl
- Titanium Dioxide
- Desert Rose Mica
- Racing Stripe Orange Mica
- JasminePetals
FRAGRANCE PREP: In separate glass containers, measure 1.75 ounces of Gardenia Peach Fragrance Oil. Set aside.
COLORANT PREP: In seperate containers, disperse 1 teaspoon of titanium dioxide, 1 teaspoon of Desert Rose Mica, and 1 teaspoon of Racing Stripe Orange into 1 tablespoon of sunflower or sweet almond oil (or any other liquid oil).Use a mini mixer to help get rid of any clumps.
Optional: To ensure the titanium dioxide blends smoothly into the soap, we recommend micronizing it before dispersing it in oil. Use a coffee grinder to break up any clumps of color and prevent streaks of white from showing in the final soap. We like to use a coffee grinder that has a removable stainless steel mixing area for easy cleaning.
SAFETY FIRST: Suit up for safe handling practices. That means goggles, gloves, and long sleeves. Make sure kids, pets, other distractions, and tripping hazards are out of the house or don’t have access to your space. Always make soap in a well-ventilated area.
Follow these steps:

Slowly and carefully add 4.7 ounces of lye to 10.5 ounces of water and gently stir until the lye has fully dissolved and the liquid is clear. Set aside to cool. Optional: Add 2 teaspoons of sodium lactate to help the bars harden more quickly.

Fully melt the bag of Lots of Lather Quick Mix, shake thoroughly to combine, and measure out 33 ounces into a large mixing bowl. Once the lye water and the oils have cooled to 120° F or below (and are ideally within 10 degrees of each other), add the lye water to the oils and stick blend until thin trace.

Add all of the dispersed Desert Rose Mica, 2 teaspoons of the dispersed Racing Stripe Orange Mica, and 2 teaspoons of the dispersed titanium dioxide. Whisk in thoroughly.

Add all of the measured Gardenia Peach Fragrance Oil. Mix with a whisk.

Check the consistency of the soap. You want it to be a medium trace to create texture on top. If it's still quite thin, stick blend using short bursts until it becomes the texture of a milkshake.

Pour all of the soap into the 10" Silicone Loaf Mold. Gently tap on the counter to get rid of bubbles.

To create texture, use a small spoon to push the soap toward the center. If the soap is not holding its shape, wait 2-3 minutes and try again.

Once you're happy with the top, place jasmine flowers down the middle of the soap and press lightly with gloved hands to help them stick. Spritz with 99% isopropyl alcohol to help prevent soda ash.

Allow the soap to stay in the mold for 2-3 days. Unmold and cut into bars. Allow the soap to cure for 4-6 weeks and enjoy!
