This soap features an eye-catching layered and swirled design. It's scented with Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil.

The blue and pink colors in this project are inspired by Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil. To get the eye-catching design, melt and pour soap is layered and swirled together at the same time.

The project isn’t difficult necessarily, but it does require an understanding of how melt and pour soap behaves at different temperatures. We definitely recommend having a thermometer to ensure the soap isn't too hot and a spray bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol to help the layers stick together.

INGREDIENTS:
  • SFIC Clear Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
  • SFIC LCP White Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
  • Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil - 2 oz
  • Vanilla Color Stabilizer - 1 oz
  • Aqua Pearl Color Block - 1 Block
  • Electric Bubble Gum Color Block - 1 Block
  • Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter - 1 oz
EQUIPMENT:
  • 99% Isopropyl Alcohol - 1 bottle (16 oz by volume)
  • 10 inch Silicone Loaf Mold

Instructions

You will need:

  • 10″ Silicone Loaf Mold
  • 26 oz. Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • 26 oz. White Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • 0.4 oz. Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil
  • 0.4 oz. Vanilla Color Stabilizer
  • Aqua Pearl Color Block
  • Electric Bubble Gum Color Block
  • 1/2 tsp. Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter
  • 99% Isopropyl Alcohol in a Spray Bottle

Follow these steps:

1

Chop 26 ounces of White Melt and Pour Soap Base and 26 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in 2 separate heat-safe containers and melt in the microwave using 30-60 second bursts. Add 0.2 ounces of Cotton Candy Fragrance Oil and 0.2 ounces Vanilla Color Stabilizer to both containers and use a spoon to mix.

2

Split both containers in half so you have 2 containers of white soap and 2 containers of clear soap. They should all weigh about 13 ounces. Add shavings of the Aqua Pearl Color Block to 1 container of white soap and 1 container of clear soap. Add shavings of the Electric Bubble Gum Colorant to 1 container of clear soap and 1 container of white soap. Use a spoon to mix. If necessary, place the containers back into the microwave on 10-15 second bursts to fully melt the Color Blocks.

3

You now have 4 colors of soap: pastel pink, hot pink, pastel blue, and vibrant blue. Add 1/4 teaspoon of Fine Silver Rainbow EcoGlitter to both containers of clear soap and use a spoon to mix.

4

Check the temperatures of the soap - each container should be about 125-135° F. Pour a thin layer of the clear blue soap into the mold, just enough to cover the bottom. Spritz with alcohol to help get rid of bubbles, and pour pastel pink soap on top in random areas and spritz with alcohol. Allow this layer to cool and harden for about 3 minutes. In this time it will develop a thin skin, which will prevent the colors from muddling together.

5

If necessary, place the hot pink soap and pastel blue soap back in the microwave until they're about 125° F. Spritz the soap in the mold with alcohol, pour a thin layer of the pastel blue, spritz with alcohol to get rid of bubbles, then pour hot pink soap in random areas to create a swirl. Spritz with alcohol to get rid of bubbles and allow the layer to cool and harden for 3-4 minutes.

6

Repeat this process until all the soap is used up. We recommend always pouring 1 color made with white soap (the pastel blue and pastel pink) with 1 color made with clear soap (vibrant pink and vibrant blue) to add contrast.

7

Allow the soap to fully cool and harden for about 5 hours or up to overnight. Unmold, cut into bars, and enjoy!
