This adorable Gingerbread Man Soap is a great holiday gift!

This Gingerbread Man Soap is the perfect gift for the holidays. As soon as it's done cooling, it's ready to use! It's scented with Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil, so it smells as good as it looks.

The key to this project is a steady hand and a little patience. First, the gingerbread man details are filled in using droppers. We highly recommend having 99% isopropyl alcohol on hand for this process. Spraying the mold with alcohol first allows the soap to flow into the details easily.

Then, bronze soap is poured into each cavity. Pay attention to temperature when filling the cavities - if the soap is too hot, it can melt the delicate white and red details.

Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
  • Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil - 2 oz
  • Vanilla Color Stabilizer - 1 oz
  • SFIC Clear Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
  • Perfect Red Color Block - 1 Block
  • Cappuccino Color Block - 1 Block
  • SFIC White Melt And Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
EQUIPMENT:
  • 4 Cavity Gingerbread Mold - 1 Mold
  • Droppers With Suction Bulb - 10 droppers
  • 99% Isopropyl Alcohol - 1 bottle (16 oz by volume)

Instructions

You will need:

  • 4 Cavity Gingerbread Man Silicone Mold
  • 3 oz. White Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • 16 oz. Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • Cappuccino Color Block
  • Perfect Red Color Block
  • 0.3 oz. Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil
  • 0.3 oz. Vanilla Color Stabilizer
  • Alcohol in a Spray Bottle
  • Dropper

Follow these steps:

1

Chop 3 ounces of White Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 5-10 second bursts.

2

Spray the mold with 99% isopropyl alcohol - this helps the soap flow into the details easily. Workling quickly and carefully, use the dropper to fill in the face details and outline of the gingerbread man. Use a toothpick to clean up any mistakes. If the soap starts to cool, reheat in the microwave using 3-5 second bursts. Tip: Keep spraying alcohol as you work to pop bubbles and help the soap flow into the details.

3

Chop 16 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 5-10 second bursts. Split off about 3 ounces of soap into a separate container. Add a small chunk of the Perfect Red Color Block and stir until you get a vibrant shade.

4

Spray the mold with 99% isopropyl alcohol and use the droppers to fill the buttons with the red soap. Spray with alcohol again to get rid of any bubbles.

5

Add a chunk of the Cappuccino Color Block to the remaining melted soap and stir until you get a rich bronze shade. If necessary, reheat the soap in the microwave using 5 second bursts to fully incorporate the Color Block. Stir in 0.3 ounces of Gingerbread Cookie Fragrance Oil and 0.3 ounces of Vanilla Color Stabilizer. Note: The Vanilla Color Stabilizer prevents the discoloration from bleeding into the white and red details.

6

Make sure the brown soap is around 130° F, or it can melt the details. Spray each cavity with alcohol and carefully pour in the brown soap. Spray with alcohol again to get rid of bubbles. Allow the soap to cool and harden for 3-4 hours. Remove from mold and enjoy!
