Sand Dollar Soap Project
These Sand Dollar Soaps are easy to make and smell amazing. Coconut Paradise is the perfect toasty fragrance oil, and the Sand Dollar Mold creates a cute beachy shape.
The Oatmeal Melt and Pour Base has a creamy color, suitable for a sand dollar. A touch of walnut shells add light exfoliation to one side of each bar.
What You Need:
Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- SFIC Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base - 1 lb
- Coconut Paradise Fragrance Oil - 2 oz
- Walnut Shells - 3 oz
EQUIPMENT:
- 4 Cavity Sand Dollar Silicone Mold - 1 mold
Instructions
You will need:
- 4 Cavity Silicone Sand Dollar Mold
- 12 oz. Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base
- 0.3 oz. Coconut Paradise Fragrance Oil
- 2 tsp. Walnut Shells
- 99% Isopropyl Alcohol in a Spray Bottle
Follow these steps:
1
Chop 12 ounces of Oatmeal Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and melt in the microwave using 30 second bursts.
2
Add 0.3 ounces of Coconut Paradise Fragrance Oil. Mix until it's fully incorporated.
3
Pour the soap into each cavity of the mold until they're about 75% full. Save a small amount to top off each one. Allow the soap in the mold to cool and harden slightly - about 10-15 minutes. It needs to be firm enough to support the layer on top.
4
Reheat the remaining soap using 5-10 second bursts. Once melted, add 2 teaspoons of walnut shells. Spritz the soap in the mold with 99% isopropyl alcohol and pour the remaining melted soap into each cavity. After each pour, spray with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bubbles.
5
Allow the soap to fully cool and harden for about 3-4 hours. Remove from the mold and enjoy!
