Inspiration for Aquarius Season

Inspiration for Aquarius | Bramble Berry

If you were born between January 20th and February 18th, congratulations, you’re an Aquarius!

Aquarius is an air sign, and air is the element that governs the mind. Intellectual matters and curiosity are part of each of the air signs in the zodiac, and the Aquarius is no different.

Those born in Aquarius season tend to be innovators. They’re progressive, rebellious, and have a keen sense of humanitarianism. They may have unconventional tastes in fashion, and they’re proud of it.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet associated with surprising events, innovation, and technology, so it’s no surprise that this air sign is non-traditional. Aquarian intellectual pursuits can pull these folks away from friends and family, so they have a reputation for being a little aloof in personal relationships. It is good for them to remember that long lasting change starts on the micro level.

Despite their reputation, Aquarians do have a soft, sentimental side. They do tend to be a bit stubborn, and may struggle to see things from another person’s perspective. They are social, but have no time for or interest in small talk.

Colors for Aquarius

The main Aquarian color is blue, but colors like white, purple, and turquoise also work well for this stubborn air sign. Blue is a calming color that allows the Aquarius to focus fully on their humanitarian pursuits.

For a truly beautiful shade of blue in your Aquarius projects, you can’t beat natural indigo powder. This is a powder from the indigo plant, which has been used to color everything from fabric to cosmetics throughout history. This natural, vegan colorant works well in cold process soap and in melt and pour soap. Indigo can stain, though, so you may want to avoid it in bath bombs and bath soaks.

For Aquarius season bath bombs and lotions, our Sapphire Liquid Crystal Dye is wonderful. It’s super concentrated, so a little goes a long way, and you decide how dark the color is based on how much you add. It’s easy to use, too; you don’t have to dilute it before using!

Aquarian Fragrances

As an air sign, the Aquarius will appreciate light and fresh smells particularly. Since the Aquarian birth flower is the violet, we recommend our Night Violet Fragrance Oil for Aquarius projects. This scent incorporates fresh lemon and cucumber notes, and the violet and jasmine florals are light, not heavy and cloying like some more traditional floral fragrances. It’s backed with warm cashmere and wood notes. This scent is complex, just like the mind of your favorite Aquarius.

As a nod to this air sign, we’d also recommend some frankincense essential oil. Frankincense is the resin from a tree or shrub found in tropical regions of Asia and Africa. It’s used widely in incense. It has a spicy yet earthy smell, perfect to calm the active Aquarian mind.

Perfect Aquarius Projects

For Aquarius themed projects, we like the Alpine Swirl Cold Process Soap project. This beautiful bar of soap includes Aquarian blue and white, joined in a hanger swirl design that resembles fluffy clouds in a blue sky. This cold process soap project is scented with our Alpine Frost Fragrance Oil, a crisp and fresh smell incorporating eucalyptus, thyme, and cedar.

We also love the Turmeric Whipped Body Butter project. It’s made with coconut oil and shea butter, but includes arrowroot and is whipped to incorporate air and make it nice and fluffy. It’s scented with ginger essential oil, adding a little spice as a nod to the stubborn and dynamic Aquarian nature. Perfect to help a busy Aquarius keep their skin nice and soft.

Additives and botanicals for aquarius season

To add a little Aquarian flair to projects, blue cornflower petals are wonderful. They add a touch of blue to bath salts and teas, and look wonderful sprinkled on the top of cold process soap and embedded into bath bombs.

The chamomile plant is an airy little herb, with modest white and yellow flowers and frond-like leaves. It has a wonderful scent that’s known to be calming and is often used in teas. As an additive, chamomile extract is wonderful for your skin. It’s soothing and gentle, and adds moisturizing properties to your bath and body projects. It’s a wonderful extract to add to Aquarius season projects.
