Inspiration for Capricorns

Inspiration for Capricorns | Bramble Berry

If you were born between December 22nd and January 19th, congratulations, you’re a Capricorn! In the Zodiac, Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn, and is an earth sign.

The influence of Saturn means that Capricorns are good at moderation. Saturn lends wisdom and discipline to Capricorns, helping them stay on track. Saturn also governs obligations to others. This tends to make Capricorns into hardworking and reliable people.

The element of earth makes Capricorns steady and loyal. They aren’t easily shaken, and can be tenacious and determined. But it also makes them excellent friends. They may seem blunt sometimes, but they won’t leave you hanging or let you down. Their frankness is driven by care, and the desire to give you the information that you need.

Capricorn colors

This earth sign is represented by warm browns and comforting greys. These colors are welcoming and peaceful, but may also seem a bit cold. They are as relentlessly practical as the Capricorn themself.

Some colorants we recommend for the Capricorn are Bentonite Clay and our Cappuccino Mica.

Cappuccino Mica

Bentonite Clay lends a soft grey color to bath and body products, echoing the stability of the Capricorn. It also has benefits for the skin, helping to absorb excess oil. Bentonite Clay is a great colorant for soaps and bath bombs, as well as facial masks.

Our Cappuccino Mica produces a rich brown color. This color nods to the earthy nature of this sign, as steady and supportive as the ground under your feet. This colorant great for soaps, bath bombs, lotions, and scrubs.

Fragrances for Capricorns

When we talk about fragrances for the Capricorn, we’re looking for things that feel a little earthen. These smells tend to be warm and deep, sometimes even dark.

Our Hickory and Suede Fragrance Oil brings in warmth with woods like cypress and sandalwood,  and the comforting smell of leather. It’s complemented with subtle florals and a little musk.

The Jasmine Dreams Fragrance Oil might seem like a choice that isn’t very Capricorn, but one of the Capricorn’s birth flowers is the fragrant jasmine. This beautiful floral fragrance brings the smell of jasmine into your bath and beauty products, giving the hard-working Capricorn a much needed bit of indulgence.

Perfect projects for Capricorns

For the Capricorn, we love the Patchouli and Bentonite Clay Soap Project. This is a cold process soap project that uses Bentonite Clay for both its benefits to the skin and for its lovely grey color. Patchouli essential oil gives this soap a warm, earthy smell that’s brightened a bit by lime essential oil.

We also really love the Lavender Face Mask Project. This face mask gives skin soothing qualities of clays and the moisturizing effects of argan oil and avocado oil. It’s formulated for dry or sensitive skin, and scented with relaxing lavender essential oil.

Capricorn botanicals and additives

Icelandic Black Sand is a wonderful additive for bath and body projects for Capricorns. It’s from the earth, and adds a black to grey color depending on how much you use. It adds gentle exfoliation and comes from a black sand beach in Iceland. It’s perfect for scrubs and exfoliating soaps.

Jasmine Flowers are also great. These dried flowers come from the fragrant jasmine plant, one of the Capricorn’s birth flowers! They add texture to the tops of homemade soaps, add serene beauty to bath salts and teas, and they work great for oil infusions.

If you’re a Capricorn, or have a friend who’s a Capricorn, we hope that these recommendations are helpful. Take a look and let them inspire the perfect Capricorn project.
